Lieutenant Colonel Troy E. Pou - Senior Policy Advisor Air National Guard

Lieutenant Colonel Troy E. Pou is currently the Senior Policy Advisor for the Air National Guard to the Reserve Forces Policy Board (RFPB), Office of the Secretary of Defense, Washington, D.C.  The Reserve Forces Policy Board serves as an independent adviser to the Secretary of Defense, providing advice and recommendations to the Secretary on strategies, policies, and practices designed to improve and enhance the capabilities, efficiency and effectiveness of the seven Reserve Components.

Lieutenant Colonel Pou was commissioned in 1996 through the Academy of Military Science at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base, Tennessee.  As a commissioned officer, he has been assigned to and supported various Air National Guard, Air Force, and Joint organizations spanning the tactical unit level to headquarters staff level in the traditional guardsman, federal technician, and active-duty statuses.  He has deployed in supported of numerous operations such as JOINT GUARD, NOBLE EAGLE, ENDURING FREEDOM, NEW HORIZONS, and IRAQI FREEDOM as a Tactical Communications Engineer, Flight Commander, Joint Task Force J-6, and Commander.  He has over 30 years within the Communications and Information systems and Cyber operations career fields.  Prior to receiving his commission, Colonel Pou served as an enlisted member of the 236th Combat Communications Squadron of the Louisiana Air National Guard.
