Colonel Robert R. D’Alto is the Senior Policy Advisor for the Air National Guard to the Reserve Forces Policy Board (RFPB), Office of the Secretary of Defense, Washington, D.C. The Reserve Forces Policy Board serves as an independent adviser to the Secretary of Defense, providing advice and recommendations to the Secretary on strategies, policies, and practices designed to improve and enhance the capabilities, efficiency and effectiveness of the seven Reserve components.
Colonel D’Alto was commissioned through the Academy of Military Science, and has served as an Air Battle Manger for the 101st Air Control Squadron, Worcester, MA. He has served at Otis Air National Guard Base in multiple positions as a Communications Officer with the 253rd Combat Communications Group, and as an Instructor, Evaluator, Director of Operations and Commander on the AN/GSQ 272 SENTINEL Weapon System, for the 101st Intelligence Squadron. He has served as the Air National Guard Readiness Center as a Cyber Program manager, and as the Chief of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Division. In his role as the as the Chief of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Division, he provided direction for 11,500 Air National Guard personnel in each of the states and territories ad provided functional area management of over 60 field units conducting operations in both air and ground ISR missions.
Colonel D’Alto has mobilized and served during various contingency operations with First Air Force, CENTCOM, and AFSOC while supporting Operations CORNET NIGHTHAWK, NOBLE EAGLE, IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, and NEW DAWN.
