Jason Insung Kim, CPT, USAR Consultant

Captain Jason Kim military career began when he enlisted into the Army Reserve in 2005. He completed Basic Training at Ft. Jackson, SC and then completed his Advanced Individual Training at Ft. Lee, VA. He promoted to a non-commissioned officer and served at the 416th Theater Engineer Command as an Automated Supply Logistics Specialist. In 2007, Jason Kim received his commission in to the United States Army Reserve where he served initially as the G-4 Budget Officer at the 416th Theater Engineer Command from 2007-2010. In 2011-2012, he deployed to the Middle East as the Special Operations Command Central Command J-4 Logistics Director. From 2012-2015, he joined the 352nd Civil Affairs Command at Ft. Meade, MD as the Secretary of the General Staff. From 2015-2016, Captain Jason Kim served as the Company Commander of the 1st Mobilization Support Group at Ft. Totten, NY. Currently, he is the G-4 Logistics Planner for the Military Intelligence Readiness Command at Ft. Belvoir, VA.

In his civilian career, he serves as a Senior Strategist and Resource Manager at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. Prior to his current position, he worked both in the federal and private sector. His experience includes Deloitte Consulting, HQDA, Office of the Chief of Staff, and the United States Army Reserve Command.

Captain Kim’s military awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Army Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” Device, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Expeditionary Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.

His federal civilian awards include the NGA Role Model of the Year, Superior Civilian Service Award, and the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service.

Captain Kim’s civilian education includes a B.A. in Economics (2005) from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a M.A. in Public Management from the Johns Hopkins University (2015). He is currently pursuing a Master of Science and Technology in Intelligence with a Cyber Intelligence and Data Analytics concentration at the National Intelligence University.

He holds multiple professional certifications to include the Department of Defense Financial Management Certification Program Level 3 (DFMCP3), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Certified Defense Financial Manager – Acquisition (CDFM-A), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
