Colonel Gary P. Beckett is the Senior Policy Advisor for the Air Force Reserve to the Reserve Forces Policy Board (RFPB), Office of the Secretary of Defense, Washington, D.C. The Reserve Forces Policy Board serves as an independent adviser to the Secretary of Defense, providing advice and recommendations to the Secretary on strategies, policies, and practices designed to improve and enhance the capabilities, efficiency and effectiveness of the seven Reserve components. Colonel Beckett earned his commission after completing the Air Force ROTC program at Florida State University. He then entered Undergraduate Navigator Training at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Fla., followed by the F-15E Basic Course at Seymour Johnson AFB, N.C. There, he served with multiple fighter squadrons and deployed in support of Operations IRAQI and ENDURING FREEDOM. Colonel Beckett next attended Air Command and Staff College and later served in various Total Force Integration positions in the Pentagon. After the Pentagon, Colonel Beckett served as a Squadron Commander and then attended Air War College. He then returned to the Pentagon as the Chief, Combat Air Force Integration, responsible for the F-16 Program, valued at $3B. Prior to his current assignment, he served as the Chief, Air Force Reserve Futures Integration in the Reserve Plans, Programs, and Requirements Directorate at Headquarters Air Force, Washington, D.C.
