Colonel Manaal I. Burge is the Senior Policy Advisor for the Air National Guard to the Reserve Forces Policy Board (RFPB), Office of the Secretary of Defense, Washington, D.C. The Reserve Forces Policy Board serves as an independent adviser to the Secretary of Defense, providing advice and recommendations to the Secretary on strategies, policies, and practices designed to improve and enhance the capabilities, efficiency, and effectiveness of the seven Reserve components. Col Burge is a decorated combat leader with five deployments. She recently graduated National War College with a concentration in Influence Warfare and served as the ARC liaison to Force Development in OUSD (P) prior to the RFPB. She has served as an active-duty officer in the Regular Air Force, the Air National Guard and a civilian defense contractor which has given her great perspective. Col Burge has served at every level from tactical to strategic to include squadron command. She has been an F-15E WSO, TACP ALO, Air Operations Master Air Attack Planner, Deputy Director ANG Crisis Action Team, USAF Foreign and Domestic Relations Officer and Chief of Strategic Communications in the CSAF/SecAF Executive Action Group. Additionally, she was a varsity college athlete and a medical mission volunteer to austere, remote parts of the globe where she both offered humanitarian, medical and educational assistance. An active officer, Pipper continues to serve in her community, her church, pursue higher education, and personal fitness goals. She is happily married with four stepdaughters.
